She is a member of the Palm Beach County Music Teacher’s Association, the Florida Music Teacher’s Association, the Music Teacher’s National Association, and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. She has taught private music lessons for the past 25 years; she taught general music and started the band program at St. Paul School in Boca Raton for 10 years. Kathy plays regularly with the chamber group Aria, a flute and harp duo.

Tom Wierzbicki is currently a student at FAU, persuing a degree in Jazz Studies. Previously, he was the recipient of a full scholarship to Lynn Conservatory, where he completed his freshman year. Thomas is a graduate of Dreyfoos School of the Arts where he studied with Dr. Orville Lawton in the piano program. He has also studied with Harold Brown for 10 years. He has participated in the FSU summer honors piano program, and placed in many piano competitions. Thomas is also an accomplished bass guitar player and has great interest in instruments from other cultures.

Our youngest musicians begin in a group piano readiness class where they learn skills that will ensure their success at playing the piano. From there they progress to private lessons with our teachers. Music theory and ear training are reinforced at our computer center after lessons.

Once basic skills are mastered children are encouraged to participate in duet teams. Developing friendships among fellow musicians is strongly encouraged!

At Willow Music we have 2 recitals per year, in December and May. We also participate in National Guild Auditions, in which students play for a judge for an evaluation. New for 2009 will be our duet recital.
